About Anxiety Disorders!
Posted by anxiouswill in Anxiety Depression, Prescription Anxiety Drugs on April 28th, 2009
Sufferers of anxiety disorders feel fear and often phobias that are triggered with high stress. Symptoms may include sweating, hypertension, headache, palpitations and muscle spasms, as well as exhaustion and fatigue. They can have rational or irrational emotions associated, depending upon their extent, and are often accompanied by clinical depression and other mental disorders.
Individuals with a family history of excessive worry tend to have these disorders themselves, even down to the exact type that their family members have. Fear and anxiety have specific meanings and are not used interchangeably during clinical usage. Fear is a reaction to a known threat of a physical type either by emotion or physiological response, and anxiety is defined as an emotional state that is unpleasant where the reason either cannot be identified right away, or is unavoidable or uncontrollable.
This type of excessive worry and fear are both included in the term “anxiety disorder,” which can be both irrational and rational worry and doubt, easily determined, or undetermined, chronic and frequent. Phobias can often occur under this umbrella, and can persist in a person’s daily life with irrational fears.
Many sufferers of these disorders also suffer from depression which can be treated with similar medications and other treatments. The inability to maintain balance in a person’s life contributes heavily to the onset of panic, and if a person is able to restore balance in their lives they are able to be cured.
Anxiety disorders include phobias, and panic, as well as other mental health issues. Substance abuse by benzodiazepine dependence as well as alcohol enhance the effects of these disorders and cause additional side affects such as aggression, hostility, and even violence and paranoia. Although anxiety symptoms may occur before the onset of dependence from substances, the dependence creates a false justification, and makes those conditions worse.
Quitting substance abuse becomes easier for many sufferers when they understand that the addition of those substances makes their worry worse. Withdrawal does occur during the quitting process which can cause the symptoms of anxiety and fear to worsen temporarily.
When substance abuse has been stopped, the recovery process is much easier to cope with and individuals find themselves enjoying their quality of life much more. Other issues that contribute are overexposure to organic solvents, such as varnish and paint, as well as carpet laying during which exposure in significant amounts to organic solvents may occur.
