Anyone who has ever suffered with panic attacks will tell you that this is the number one question that so many people ask when confronted with the problem of panic.

All people want is their life to go back to normal like it was before panic and anxiety ruled every day.

I used to think how fine life used to be and I’d spend all day wondering how to get back to the past that I left behind and how the hell do I stop panic attacks?

If you are suffering with panic attack problems and are wondering how to stop panic attacks the tips outlined below will help you

1)Remember that panic attacks like all emotional problems exist because of our resistance to them. This is crucial to realise. That which is embraced and loved simply fades back into from whence it came. That which we avoid in ourselves will not let us rest until we fully face it.

2)So next time you’re having a panic attack experiment with non resistance to the energy and thoughts. Try doing nothing but experience the emotions. This takes courage to do but its well worth it the effort. You will initially notice a rise in the level of intensity and then a tapering off in the level of discomfort. You will slowly start to feel more in control.

3) Try seeing the panic as a child looking for your attention. If a child was looking for your attention you would not start to run away or question the child over and over. You would simply look at the child and listen to what it had to say. The child would not want your attention for ever but would eventually move on to something else. The same applies to panic, if you just let it be it will eventually move on.

Problems with panic are a surprisingly common occurrence It’s estimated that around 1 to 2% of the population in the USA is suffering from a panic problem at any one time.

Symptoms include intense feelings of fear coupled with sweating, racing heart, choking feelings

feeling like you’re going crazy or about to die just to name few. It certainly can be debilitating and can really hamper your enjoyment of life

If you are in this boat some of the tips I’m going to outline below will start to help you

1) Realise that there is a way out of this problem no matter how long you’ve struggled or however desperate you think your condition may be. Thousands of people worldwide have experienced problems with panic and they have come through it. You will too, it’s just a matter of time till you find your way out.

2) Realise that struggling and fighting how you feel is only prolonging the problem and making matters worse for you. Let the sensations and feelings arise and breathe into them. This should start to give some immediate relief

3)Try to get in touch with the part of you that is panicked and distressed To find out how to heal it.

Try this exercise.

Get two chairs and sit in one yourself while imagining your panicked self in the other chair.

Ask your panicked self what it would like from you while you are sitting in your chair . Then go and sit in the chair that has the panic in it and let yourself answer back speaking as your panic. Listen to whatever answer comes. Your panic might tell you what it needs in order to be healed.

4)Let your panic have its way with you. Let it come up and down throughout the day and realise that it may be there for some time but you can live together.

Panic attacks can happen anywhere, without warning. And, unfortunately, these attacks don’t typically happen only once. Chances are, if you’ve already suffered one, it’s just a matter of time before it happens again. Thankfully, you can get rid of panic attacks so they don’t keep you from living the life you deserve.

Frequent panic attacks can lead to irrational fears that can eventually cause the kinds of phobias that cripple your ability to function in your daily life. Panic attacks are fueled by anxiety; and, unfortunately, some methods only treat the symptoms of panic attacks but do little to eliminate them. The only way to effectively get rid of them is to pinpoint and remedy the root cause.

Psychotherapy, if used properly, is an effective way to help you identify and treat the cause of your panic attacks. Through a series of behavior modification techniques, psychotherapy gives you the tools you need to understand and recondition the behaviors and thoughts that contribute to your anxiety. Although psychotherapy is a highly effective way to get rid of panic attacks, modifying behavior is a gradual process and may take several weeks to see results.

Another way to get rid of panic attacks is with hypnotherapy. Hypnosis changes the way you understand and respond to situations to keep you from being overpowered by your anxiety.

If you suffer from panic attacks, it’s important to keep your body and mind in tip-top condition to enable you to manage anxiety better. So eat a balanced diet, get one-hour of moderate exercise five days a week, and practice stress management techniques such as meditating, yoga, or Tai Chi.

Panic attacks are frightening, and getting rid of them isn’t easy. But combining hypnotherapy or psychotherapy with a healthy lifestyle will make your anxiety attacks a thing of the past.
