Problems with panic are a surprisingly common occurrence It’s estimated that around 1 to 2% of the population in the USA is suffering from a panic problem at any one time.
Symptoms include intense feelings of fear coupled with sweating, racing heart, choking feelings
feeling like you’re going crazy or about to die just to name few. It certainly can be debilitating and can really hamper your enjoyment of life
If you are in this boat some of the tips I’m going to outline below will start to help you
1) Realise that there is a way out of this problem no matter how long you’ve struggled or however desperate you think your condition may be. Thousands of people worldwide have experienced problems with panic and they have come through it. You will too, it’s just a matter of time till you find your way out.
2) Realise that struggling and fighting how you feel is only prolonging the problem and making matters worse for you. Let the sensations and feelings arise and breathe into them. This should start to give some immediate relief
3)Try to get in touch with the part of you that is panicked and distressed To find out how to heal it.
Try this exercise.
Get two chairs and sit in one yourself while imagining your panicked self in the other chair.
Ask your panicked self what it would like from you while you are sitting in your chair . Then go and sit in the chair that has the panic in it and let yourself answer back speaking as your panic. Listen to whatever answer comes. Your panic might tell you what it needs in order to be healed.
4)Let your panic have its way with you. Let it come up and down throughout the day and realise that it may be there for some time but you can live together.
