One out of 75 people world wide experience panic attacks. In America alone, 40 million adults from age 18 and up suffer anxiety disorder. Most people who experience the symptoms are actually not aware that they have it.

Panic attacks are sudden periods of intense anxiety. We experience anxiety due to stress but when it becomes extreme and gives us discomforts such as palpitations, pounding heart and accelerated heart beat, sweating, trembling or shaking, shortness of breath, feeling of choking, nausea and dizziness we are sure to have been suffering from this disorder. These symptoms commonly last for as short as 15 seconds to 30 minutes but some may last for extended period and even for hours.

The most common reason for experiencing panic attacks is being in a situation where you think and fear that you wouldn’t be able to escape it. You will then have anxious thoughts that would send shock-waves of different reactions inside the body. You may feel pain, nausea and other types of discomfort leading to dizziness, shortness of breath etc. which results to a nervous breakdown.

Anxious thoughts are doubts that turn into fears. The more doubts you have of not escaping a situation, the more fear it generates. The intensity of the doubt increases the intensity of the fear sending different types of reaction to the body.

To eliminate this, you would have to force these thoughts away because the more fearful reaction you have to the thought, the stronger the thought would remain to your awareness creating more shock-waves of reaction to your body.

Try to change your reaction to the thought or better yet, dismiss the thought that gives you fear. Try moving your attention to other things. Do not allow these thoughts to dominate your mind. That is the only way to be free of them.

Don’t let your mind trick you into believing that anxiety is something that you would always have to struggle with. The cycle of the attacks goes like this: fear intensifies anxiety and anxiety intensifies the attacks. To vanish it, you would have to set your mind to believe that you no longer fear the thought of having panic attacks. Overcoming your fear of it is the only key to eliminate it 100%. You have to break the cycle of anxiety and return to normal everyday living.
