Panic Attacks can be characterized by a sudden onset of uncomfortable and terrifying symptoms coupled with thoughts that something bad is about to happen. The most common symptoms of panic attacks can include: rapid heartbeat, dizziness, difficulty in breathing, etc. The very first panic attack can occur anytime, anywhere and subsequent attacks can be equally unpredictable. Left untreated, sufferers can become traumatized by their experiences and may develop certain level of fear and phobia. They may hesitate to venture into public and become easily agitated and nervous.
In order to overcome your panic attacks you need to understand what is going on with your body. Many panic attack sufferers are dead convinced that something is wrong with them and they are going to die. This is false! Panic attacks will NEVER cause you to die or cause you to develop some unknown physical illness. This is the most important fact that you have to understand as a full recovery would not be possible if you still believe that something bad is happening to you. You need to stop pin-pointing a reason and cause for your symptoms - because there is none - there is only panic attack.
One way to deal with panic attacks is to try and focus on positive, rationale thoughts. Thoughts like “I feel like fainting”, “I am having a heart attack”, “I am going to lose control” does not help at all. Instead, they will only serve to worsen the panic symptoms. Put a stop to these thoughts and replace them with positive, rationale thoughts such as “These feelings are uncomfortable, but they won’t last forever”, “It is not a heart attack, it is just panic attack, I will be fine”, etc.
Do not be disheartened if you are finding it difficult to concentrate on these calming thoughts. This is a form of mental conditioning; as you keep practicing and trying, your brain with eventually accept these positive statements and you will find it easier to calm down.

Depression is one of the most debilitating mental disorders of our modern era. It affects nearly 10 million Americans every year. Although it is primarily thought of as a mental condition depression can also inflict varying amounts of pain and discomfort that manifest as physical symptoms of depression. One of the problems with the associated with the physical symptoms of depression is the misdiagnosis of the depression itself. Doctors, when presented with these physical symptoms, will test for and diagnose a physical illness and prescribe treatments to treat these symptoms not knowing or understanding that the symptoms are hiding a more insidious disease. When you look at a list of the physical symptoms of depression you can see why these misdiagnosis and mistreatments can occur. 1. Headaches ” These are one of the first symptoms that can occur with depression. In fact headaches can be intensified to migraine like intensity in someone who is suffering from depression. 2. Chest Pains ” Depression can cause chest pains, which for most people is a sign of an impending heart attack. While any chest pain should be checked by a doctor it can also be a symptom of depression. 3. Sleep Disorders ” People who suffer from depression can have either problems going to sleep (insomnia) or they sleep for excessively long periods of time. Thy may have trouble getting out of bed as well. 4. Digestive System Issues ” Diarrhea, constipation, and nausea are all physical symptoms of depression. 5. Extreme Fatigue ” The majority of people who suffer from depression also suffer from perpetual exhaustion. This can relate back to the sleep disorders and it doesn’t seem to matter how much sleep they get they still are fatigued. 6. Back Pain and Muscle Aches ” Depression can intensify the pain and discomfort of people who are already suffering from these conditions. 7. Appetite and Weight Issues - People with depression can experience either a lack of appetite or intense cravings for certain foods. This can be accompanied by either weight gain or weight loss. Another issue for people who suffer from more severe forms of depression may be even harder to diagnose because with severe depression can come delusions and hallucinations. It can become increasingly difficult to know whether a depression sufferer actually has some of the physical symptoms of depression or if they are inventing them. It is also easier for many people to accept the physical symptoms of depression then any mental symptoms. There are many people and cultures that place a social stigma on anyone with a mental illness. It is therefore easier to accept and treat a more benign physical ailment then it is to deal with issues of the mind. What many people do not understand is that with the successful treatment of the underlying depression with either therapy or medication or both the physical symptoms of depression will often be resolved. Unfortunately treating the physical symptoms will do nothing for actual the depression and without proper treatment the depression will normally continue to get worse. It is therefore of the utmost importance to treat the depression itself if a sufferer is to see any relief from the physical symptoms of depression.

The majority of people that suffer from stress are unaware that physical symptoms of anxiety and stress do exist. If you think all anxiety is, is an emotional response to something that just happened, this could not be further from the truth. The truth is the symptoms of anxiety actually come before the emotional response does. It is the symptoms that cause such great emotions. I am going to be giving you a small list of the physical symptoms of anxiety and stress then I am going to tell you about the best way to get rid of them.
Because of how many symptoms there are, I will not be listing all of them. I will be listing the 10 most common symptoms. The odds are if you suffer from anxiety you will have at least 2-3 of these symptoms
- Chest pains and sometime heart palpations.
- Sweating way more than usual.
- Trembling and shaking.
- A racing heart rate.
- Higher blood pressure.
- Constantly feeling like you are “on the edge”.
- Feeling like you are sick and possibly some vomiting.
- Always fearing you are going to die.
- Headaches (usually right above one eye).
- Being short of breath.
Remember, those are just some of the symptoms, you could be experiencing many more that are not listed. But the chances are if you suffer from anxiety you will have at least 2-3 of those 10 symptoms.
So what can be done about stress and anxiety The truth is, stress can be an easy thing to overcome. Many people feel the need to go to a doctor and get a prescription from some kind of drugs. This could not be further from the truth. Actually, drugs can possibly make things worse. Sure they might help temporarily but in the long run they wont do anything to help anxiety and you will eventually become addicted to them (trust me I have been there).
The best way to get rid of the physical symptoms of anxiety and stress is to practice “relaxation techniques. With the use of these techniques you can allow your brain to see things more clearly rather than just seeing the worst possible outcome. All you need to do to perform relaxation techniques is to focus on your breathing. Breathe in slowly and out slowly. Focus on each and every breath and let your worries fade away.
