Getting nervous is a normal thing in life. We all get nervous before a really cute date, a big game, and before giving a speech in front of a class. But do you feel like you get way more nervous than everyone else Do you sometimes feel that you cannot go on that date with the really cute guy or girl because you are afraid they might not like you Do you freak out when your boss gives you a new assignment and you feel like there is no possible way you can get it done If you do you might be suffering from anxiety attacks.

You might be thinking there is nothing wrong with suffering the occasional anxiety attack but the truth is it can be harmful to your health. Anxiety leads to stress and stress have many physical symptoms including a rapid heart rate, heart palpations, tightness in the throat, stomach pain, feeling sick and vomiting, trouble breathing, being constantly “on the edge”, headaches, constantly fearing your death, sweating, trembling and shaking, higher blood pressure, insomnia, and always being worried.

So how do you get rid of anxiety and stress Through a simple thing called “relaxation techniques.” If you have never heard of relaxation techniques there are many you can perform. But the one that I prefer to use is just simply to focus on each and every breath. Breathe in and out in a controlled, slow manner. When performed correctly your stress will begin to leave and so will the anxiety.
